Resurgence of Pertussis (Whooping Cough) cases in Abitibi-Témiscamingue

In recent days, cases of pertussis have been reported to the public health department indicating transmission of this disease within the region. The CISSS de l'Abitibi-Témiscamingue wishes to inform the public about pertussis and the measures to be taken to prevent its spread.

Please note that most infected people recover well without complications. However, babies under one year of age have a higher risk of severe illness.
