{"id":1963,"date":"2017-09-11T20:31:44","date_gmt":"2017-09-11T20:31:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cisss-at.gouv.qc.ca\/soins-infirmiers-courants\/"},"modified":"2023-11-30T16:15:45","modified_gmt":"2023-11-30T21:15:45","slug":"care-and-services-at-the-clsc","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.cisss-at.gouv.qc.ca\/en\/care-and-services-at-the-clsc\/","title":{"rendered":"Care and Services at the CLSC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nurses are present throughout the Abitibi-T\u00e9miscamingue region to provide front-line health care and services in CLSCs and their various points of service in rural areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Change of dressing and catheter;<\/li>\n<li>Ear washing;<\/li>\n<li>Injection of medication;<\/li>\n<li>Wound care;<\/li>\n<li>Catheter holder irrigation;<\/li>\n<li>Blood draws;<\/li>\n<li>Urine;<\/li>\n<li>Follow-up of chronic diseases (hypertension, dyslipidemia, diabetes, etc.);<\/li>\n<li>Counselling and referral to other services;<\/li>\n<li>Assessment (e.g., abdominal pain, ear pain, etc.).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Some services are available without an appointment or medical referral. Please call your point of service before going there.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Diabetes Prevention and Management Clinic<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Specialized care and services for diabetes and blood sugar management are offered in all CLSCs. These services can be accessed by medical referral or through a request for professional services, except for participation in group classes and workshops.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Group Classes &amp; Workshops<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Various courses and workshops offer information sessions on diabetes management. These meetings are led by various health professionals: nurse, nutritionist, kinesiologist, doctor, etc.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Specialized care and services for diabetes and blood glucose management<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Follow-up of clients with prediabetes as well as clients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes.<br \/>\nThis service is accessible by medical referral or at the request of the user himself.<\/p>\n<p><strong>By appointment only<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bring or mail your request.<\/li>\n<li>Send your request by fax.<\/li>\n<li>Contact the service by phone.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Perinatal -
