They are responsible for responding to anyone who contacts the institution seeking help for a psychological or social need and for referring them to the appropriate services. General social services assist individuals experiencing situational or temporary problems who require short-term interventions (individual, family, or group).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Types of services:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Reception, analysis, orientation and referral (AAOR). The concept of AAOR refers to the support of individuals within the health and social services system, as well as services ranging from promotion to intervention;<\/li>\n<li>24\/7 psychosocial telephone consultation (Info-Social - 811, option 2);<\/li>\n<li>24\/7 crisis intervention in the living environment;<\/li>\n<li>Social consultation;<\/li>\n<li>Social services in a civil security context for a population experiencing a disaster, tragedy or situation that requires the help of a group of psychosocial interveners to facilitate a return to normal life.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Target clientele<\/h4>\n<p>The clientele of general social services consists of the entire population who are experiencing a social problem or who have questions about the subject.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Where can I find information?<\/h4>\n<p>By calling the CLSC or your family doctor if he\/she is registered in a family medicine group (GMF), and ask to speak to a counselor.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Why consult a doctor?<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Immediate or short-term social intervention for the maintenance and improvement of the health and well-being of the population;<\/li>\n<li>Marital and family intervention;<\/li>\n<li>Suicide risk assessment;<\/li>\n<li>Prevention and screening for problems related to domestic violence and sexual assault;<\/li>\n<li>Intervention related to situations of risk in the functioning and social problems of individuals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>By phone<\/h4>\n<p>24\/7 psychosocial telephone consultation service: dial 811, option 2 to contact an Info-Social worker.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>In person<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Contact the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cisss-at.gouv.qc.ca\/en\/list-of-facilities\/\">CLSC service point <\/a>nearest you to make an appointment with a service provider.<\/li>\n<li>Consult your family doctor.
