Hand hygiene is the simplest and most effective way to reduce the risk of contracting and transmitting bacteria and viruses. For this reason, the CISSS de l\u2019Abitibi-T\u00e9miscamingue places great importance on it and encourages staff and the public to adopt best practices.<\/p>\n

Hand hygiene techniques<\/h3>\n

The preferred method varies depending on the product used: soap and water or hydroalcoholic solution. It is therefore important to adopt the appropriate procedure.<\/p>\n

Wash your hands with soap and water:<\/h4>\n
    \n
  1. Wet;<\/li>\n
  2. Soap;<\/li>\n
  3. Rub for 15 to 20 seconds;<\/li>\n
  4. Clean the nails;<\/li>\n
  5. Rinse;<\/li>\n
  6. Dry;<\/li>\n
  7. Close with the paper.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Disinfect your hands with a hydroalcoholic solution (liquid, gel or foam):<\/h4>\n
      \n
    1. Take some hand sanitizer;<\/li>\n
    2. Rub the fingertips together;<\/li>\n
    3. Rub the inside of your hands and thumbs;<\/li>\n
    4. Rub between the fingers;<\/li>\n
    5. Rub the outside of your hands;<\/li>\n
    6. Rub your hands together until they are dry (15 to 20 seconds).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
