Zika virus
Zika virus is a virus transmitted by the bite of an infected mosquito.
The majority of people infected by the virus (75 to 80%) never develop symptoms. When it causes symptoms, they are generally benign and are mainly:
- Moderate fever;
- Muscle and joint pain;
- Red eyes;
- Pinkeye;
- Skin rash;
- Systemic symptoms such as weakness, listlessness and headaches.
